FOG CITY RECORDS ALL-STAR SHOW
"BIG NIGHT OUT #1"
December 29, 2000
THE PARTY'S OVER (BUT THE SHOW HAS JUST BEGUN!)
If you haven't heard, the show was as incredible as anticipated.
Surprise guests included
Cochemea Gastelum of the 20th Congress,
John Ellis (Charlie Hunter's current sax man),
and Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, Phil Lesh, Allman Bros).
But the real surprise of the night was the incredibly enthusiastic crowd --
from the stage, we saw nothing
but a sea of smiling faces looking straight ahead all night.
It's inspiring, and something we should all be proud of,
that a night of mostly instrumental and improvised music can draw such
a large, energetic and attentive crowd.
Our humble thanks for the patience of a few brave and faithful souls
who camped out in front of the club
starting at 9 AM, hoping for one of the few tickets reserved for
day-of-show sales (we were able to admit everyone who was waiting in line as of 5 PM that day).
If you're hungry for more details, check out
the
show review on jambase.com.
There are also some GREAT photos of the show online
here.
Our charity auction for 2 pair of tickets raised over $260
for the
New Orleans Louisiana Musician's Clinic.
Again, our thanks to all who bid so generously for those tickets. The money will
help a very worthy cause.
We plan more all-star summits in the future --
if you'd like to make sure you get early warning,
join the Fog City mailing list.

Fog City Records
is proud to present the event of the season!
Some of the best musicians we've worked with, on stage at the same time.
Performing together for the first time ever:
STANTON MOORE
ROBERT WALTER
SKERIK
with special guest appearances by:
CHARLIE HUNTER
CHRIS STILLWELL
Facing off for a no-holds-barred throwdown. A quadrangle of funk.
PLUS! JUST ANNOUNCED - EXTRA OPENING SET from:
MOFRO
We've just added a bonus early opening set: Fog City recording artists
MOFRO
will make their west coast premiere, performing tracks from their
upcoming debut album (to be released on Fog City Records in April).
Mofro's JJ, Daryl and Fabrice will flying in from Florida
to appear onstage with members of the
20th Congress rhythm section --
George Sluppick and
Robert Walter.
A few months back, George took some time out of the 20th Congress'
busy tour schedule to play drums for the Mofro sessions;
Robert made a cameo appearance on keyboards.
Arrive early and catch their reunion!
Again, we boldly say, this will be the show of the season. Come feed the frenzy!

even if you dont recognize all the names in the lineup.

In any case, SF is the place to be this NYE!
NO TAPING.
This show will be recorded for a possible release on Fog City Records. As such,
there will be NO TAPING allowed (audio, video, mic, soundboard or stealth).
Keep in mind that in 4 years of operation, we have invited you to tape thousands of shows;
this is a very rare exception to the rule.
We do support and appreciate tapers in general, and respectfully ask for your understanding
with this show.
Leave your gear at home, but come on down and have a great time with us!
(If you know anyone who's planning to bring their recording equipment to Bimbo's,
please pass this message along to them.
We want to avoid unnecessary stress on a night that should be fun for all. Thanks!)
A NOTE TO OUR FANS:
Due to the other New Years' commitments of the musicians in this all-star lineup,
we may not be able to advertise their names in print.
As such, this show will appear in the local papers and on flyers as
simply "Fog City Records Special Event" or something similar.
