JJ & MOFRO BOOKED FOR JAZZFEST 2007

JJ Grey & MOFRO are playing their first Jazzfest this year, on opening day - Friday, April 27th. The initial lineup has been announced, too. Some of our favorites: Dr. John, Van Morrison, Jill Scott, Irma Thomas, Pharoah Sanders, Rebirth Brass Band, Richie Havens, Percy Sledge, Mose Allison, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Eddie Bo, Henry Butler, Allen Toussaint, Tony Joe White, Galactic, Irma Thomas' Tribute to Mahalia Jackson, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste, Morning 40 Federation, Lady Buckjumpers and Undefeated Divas SAPCs, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & the Golden Eagles, and, well, every Mardi Gras Indian tribe and brass band... plus the gospel tent... we're gonna start saving up on our sleep right now...

About Fog City

  • Fog City Records specializes in music with fat tones and deep roots. We make records that have a sense of place, by working with musicians that sound unmistakably and indelibly like where they come from. We seek the last outposts of regional American flavor, and hope to inspire you to explore the possibilities beyond the monochromatic blight of pop culture. In our 10 year history, the road less traveled has led us from San Francisco to New Orleans to Austin to Shreveport to San Diego to Jacksonville and back again, and our jaw-dropping catalog now includes debut records from MOFRO, Galactic, Stanton Moore, Garage A Trois, Papa Mali, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Tim Bluhm and Etienne de Rocher.
